Aurora Multimedia Workshop

The Aurora Multimedia Workshop, will be held on May 26-29th, 2010 on the campus of the University of Colorado at Boulder.

While there have been many workshops teaching multimedia, ours is very different. This is clearly Phase II -- the practical hands-on training needed to move into multimedia production, and beyond that, a look at the future of story telling and communication in this visual age. Presenters will share how multimedia fits into the future from the perspective of the hottest new media ad agency in North America (Crispin Porter+ Bogusky) to how traditional news media are transitioning (Sports Illustrated on the tablet, Associated Press in multimedia) to the goals of a new division of a highly respected picture agency (Aurora Novus) to tips from documentary filmmakers. This is not just training for today, but a vision of the future -- which isn't that far off.

Shooting On-site: Getting Up-close and Personal

Da Vinci Capers ~ A Personal Renaissance Journey will host Massimo Bassano, a freelance international photojournalist, for a one week* photographic workshop on May 21-May27, 2009, in Boulder, Colorado.

In his return Colorado appearance, Massimo shares with us how photographers can capture that exceptional photo when they become part of the scene they are photographing and "touch" the lives of their subjects, rather than just watching them through a lens.

His words and photographs have graced major magazines around the world such as National Geographic, GEO, Ciclismo, and MAX France. In January, 2007, National Geographic Traveler noted Massimo as one of the top 17 photographers in Italy with his centerfold of Atrani, and once again in April, 2010, in the feature article, “A Taste of Amalfi”, his photographs gracing the cover and inside.

Besides working with Da Vinci Capers, Massimo teaches for National Geographic and Maine Media Workshops. Come join us for a new adventure and a rare opportunity in photography to learn from one of our top photographers. For more information, contact Barbara Hardesty at (303) 284-1383, or e-mail: [email protected].

*Optional: 1 day, 2 day Technical Intensive, 5 day Shoot/Critique or 7 day combination workshop.
